    Overview

    About Wine Collector

Wine Collector, formerly Wine Owners, is a service for valuing and tracking a fine wine collection. Its exchange lets private collectors, merchants and brokers buy and sell physical wine. Sellers must have clear title to wine held in a bonded warehouse, or can sell wine stored at home. Selling commission is 6.5%, 5% or 4% plus VAT depending on membership (free, £7.50 or £20 a month), and buyers pay 2.5% plus VAT. Bonded storage costs £15 per 12-bottle case a year, including all-risks insurance at replacement value. Wine is not a regulated investment, so there is no FSCS or Financial Ombudsman Service cover. The operator is Wine Collector By Nickolls & Perks Ltd of Stourbridge, which was named Greenwood & Son (Lye) Ltd until February 2025.
