About Zopa
Zopa's peer-to-peer lending platform was run by Zopa Limited (Companies House 05197592), which took that name in January 2005. In February 2022 Plata Holdings UK Limited replaced Zopa Group Limited as the company's controlling shareholder, and on 8 July 2022 the company was renamed Plata Finance Limited. Loans from the old platform were run off or sold. In March 2023 Zopa Bank, a separate company, paid £38m for a £41m portfolio of those loans held by an institutional investor. As of Sep 2026 Plata Finance Limited is active and FCA-authorised (FRN 718925) as a consumer lender with no investment product.
