Individual access to private equity in the UK used to mean either a Venture Capital Trust (VCT) or nothing. That has changed. A generation of feeder-fund platforms — Moonfare, Titanbay, Connection Capital — now offers HNW and sophisticated investors access to institutional-grade PE funds at minimums measured in tens of thousands rather than millions. Alongside them, secondary-market operators (Globacap, JP Jenkins, LSE PISCES) and tokenisation platforms (Ctrl Alt) have opened new routes into unlisted equity.

This directory pulls every retail-accessible PE platform in Other.'s database as of July 2026. Companion reading: our LTAF catalogue and alternatives to Moonfare.

    How This List Was Built

Every platform in the table below is drawn from Other.'s UK alternative investment platform directory as of 2 July 2026. Entries are filtered on asset type and description keywords, then sorted with active platforms first and inactive or wound-up operators shown below with the reason. Inclusion is not endorsement, and absence is not a judgement — please verify each platform's current status directly and consult the FCA Register before committing capital.

    What Investors Should Know

Eligibility is the first filter. Almost all PE feeder platforms restrict access to Certified High-Net-Worth, Self-Certified Sophisticated or Professional investors. If you don't meet one of those tests, this whole category is off-limits — no exceptions.

Fees stack on fees. A feeder platform typically charges a platform fee (0.5–1%) on top of the underlying PE fund's management fee (1.5–2%) and carried interest (typically 20% over an 8% hurdle). Model the fully-loaded cost, not just the platform's line item.

Illiquidity is the point. PE funds run 10–12 years with no scheduled liquidity events. Some feeder platforms have added secondary markets to give members an exit route, but pricing on those secondaries can be brutal in a downturn — expect discounts to NAV.

LTAFs and ELTIFs are the wrapper alternatives. The Long-Term Asset Fund (LTAF) and European ELTIF structures offer retail-eligible open-ended access to private markets. See our complete LTAF list for that adjacent map.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be a professional investor?

For most PE feeder platforms, yes — you must self-certify as HNW (£100k income or £250k net assets excluding home and pension), Sophisticated, or be a Professional Client. A few platforms (LSE PISCES, RetailBook) target a broader base.

    What's the minimum ticket size?

Feeder platforms have compressed minimums dramatically. Moonfare starts around £50,000 per fund; Titanbay around £25,000; Connection Capital typically £25,000+. Below that, the LTAF and VCT routes are the practical alternatives.

How is this different from a VCT?

A VCT is a listed UK investment trust that invests in small UK companies, offers 30% income tax relief and pays tax-free dividends — designed for retail. PE feeder platforms give you access to institutional buyout and growth funds — larger, later-stage, no tax relief, and restricted to HNW/Sophisticated investors.
